Meet the Steelsmith

Meet the SteelsmithSteelsmith, James McGiveron, has been working with steel for many years as a Journeyman Machinist.

Based on his talents in working with Stainless Steel, McGiveron was approached by the owner of a tatoo and piercing salon in Seattle, who knew of his craft.

This relationship encouraged McGiveron to abandon the traditional training, his formal trade, and develop a new, artistic approach to the tools and talents of his trade.

Resulting in a new product for a growing audience, McGiveron has produced an artistic line of jewelry that accommodates a particular target audience that refuses to be seduced by "cookie cutter" jewelry that is stamped-out by machine or poured into molds.

Each design is that of the artist, Jim McGiveron. Each piece of jewelry is hand-cut from a solid piece of stainless steel, unlike traditional over-the-counter jewelry designs.

The masculine nature of the nearly indestructible alloy appeals to both men and women, and polishes to a glistening sheen. Slight imperfections and scratches, from abuse, can be easily buffed-out without endangering the integrity of the piece. Unlike other traditional alloys used in the manufacture of jewelry, which if bent, or "fixed" a number of times becomes brittle and weak, resulting in the untimely loss of the piece altogether. Stainless steel jewelry can survive many lifetimes of even the toughest abuse.

Until now, Stainless Steel Jewelry has been confined to styles that are focused on piercings. Thanks to James McGiveron, we have other Stainless Steel fashion accessory options to choose from.

McGiveron's Stainless Steel Jewelry, can be found in a variety of stores throughout the world. It is difficult to pin down to a single target market. Places you might find McGiveron's Stainless Steel Jewelry might include fine jewelry stores, tatoo parlors, piercing studios and salons, motocycle shops, Harley Davidson, leather and country stores, etc., just to name a few.
